How ThriftUp UK authenticates every pre-owned Lululemon, Gymshark, North Face and Ralph Lauren piece before it enters stock. 8-point verification checklist, Grade A/AB standards, photo/video approval process. No fakes reach our buyers.
Our 8-point authentication process
Every single piece — Lululemon, Gymshark, The North Face, Ralph Lauren or any brand we stock — goes through this checklist before entering ThriftUp stock. If a piece fails any check, it is rejected.
- Logo verification — wordmark spacing, kerning, stroke thickness, symbol proportions checked against genuine reference pieces.
- Stitching quality — flatlock seam density, stitch count per inch, thread colour and finish.
- Care label check — fabric composition wording, country of origin, washing symbols, QR/style-number presence.
- Style number lookup — where applicable, cross-checked against the brand’s official style database.
- Fabric feel test — only staff who have handled hundreds of authentic pieces (Nulu, Everlux, Nulux for Lululemon; DryMove and Vital for Gymshark).
- Hardware inspection — zips, buckles, drawstring tips, buttons.
- Tag placement & construction — internal tag position, hangtag build, gusset shape.
- Overall construction — seam finishing, lining consistency — fakes cut corners we know to look for.
Grading standards
| Grade | Description | Typical use |
| Grade A | Excellent pre-owned. Only minor use signs. No defects. | Premium resale on Vinted/Depop as “excellent condition”. |
| Grade AB | Good pre-owned. Slight wear, mild pilling or minor fabric relaxation. No holes, stains or damage. | Standard wholesale mixes, resale as “good used condition”. |
We do not sell Grade B or lower. Anything below Grade AB is rejected at authentication.
Your buyer protection workflow
- Place your order and send 50% advance (via PayPal Goods & Services or Wise).
- We pull the exact pieces from stock and photograph/film each one individually.
- Photos and video sent to you on WhatsApp for approval.
- You approve — we pack, book the courier, share the tracking receipt.
- You pay the remaining 50% at that point (proof of dispatch = your protection).
- Parcel arrives tracked. Any grading concerns? Raise on WhatsApp within 3 days.
You never pay for stock you have not seen or approved. Combined with PayPal Goods & Services buyer protection, your money is safe throughout.
